Landed cost
Landed cost is the full cost of getting material to site: the supplier's price plus freight, insurance, customs duty, import VAT where not recovered, and delivery. Contractors price quotations on landed cost so the margin is not lost to shipping and duties.
Where you meet it
See the procurement guide and the tendering guide. SupaJack Construct calculates the landed price from its components and stores it with the quotation, so an old quote keeps the figure it was priced on. Check VAT with the VAT calculator.
Why it matters
A quote priced on supplier price alone looks competitive and then loses its margin to freight and duties once the order ships.
