What is a WPS SIF file?
A SIF, or salary information file, is the file a UAE private-sector employer sends through an approved bank, financial institution or exchange house to pay wages under the Wage Protection System. It holds one EDR line per worker, with person code, routing code, IBAN, pay dates and amounts, and one SCR header with the employer's totals.
What is in each line
SupaJack Construct writes the file from the approved payroll run and refuses any worker whose IBAN, person code or routing code is missing or invalid, so the file is right before it reaches the bank.
| Record | Contains |
|---|---|
| EDR | Person code, agent routing code, IBAN, pay start and end, days worked, fixed pay, variable pay, deductions |
| SCR | Employer ID, bank routing code, file date and time, salary month, record count, total, currency |
Common errors
- An IBAN with a wrong digit, which fails the check digits.
- A header total that does not match the employee lines.
- A header record count that does not match the number of lines.
- Person codes or routing codes of the wrong length.
- A pay end date earlier than the pay start date.
