Costing sheet

Last updated

A costing sheet is the project budget built after award: the expected cost of materials, labour, subcontractors and overheads that actual costs are measured against. It shows early whether a job will make its margin.

Where you meet it

See the tendering guide. SupaJack Construct keeps a commercial and a quantity surveying costing sheet per project, and a variation raises the version instead of starting a new sheet. Related: variation and landed cost.

Why it matters

Comparing actual cost with the costing sheet every month shows which jobs are slipping while there is still time to act, instead of finding the loss at the final account.
