Material inspection report (MIR)
A material inspection report confirms that material delivered to site matches the approved submittal. It is usually signed off by the consultant and supports the contractor's claim for materials on site in the next interim payment application.
Where you meet it
Read the document control guide. SupaJack Construct requires the MIR form, signed delivery note, material approval and site photos before an MIR is raised, and claims it by percentage delivered. Related: submittal and interim payment application.
Why it matters
A missing signed delivery note or photo is the most common reason a consultant rejects an inspection, which delays the certificate and the cash.
